When the school day ends, the Y is just getting started! The YMCA of East Tennessee’s After School Child Care Program provides a safe, fun, and enriching environment for kids to continue learning, stay active, and build friendships.
YMCA After School Care
Our licensed After School programs give parents peace of mind while children enjoy hands-on activities that encourage creativity, confidence, and cooperation. Every program is led by caring YMCA staff committed to helping children reach their full potential — academically, socially, and emotionally.
Daily Activities
Every afternoon, our After School Care programs balance structure and fun — giving kids the opportunity to learn, explore, and connect with friends
A Typical Day Includes:
- Snack and social time
- Homework and reading support
- Arts and crafts
- Team games and physical activity
- STEM and creative learning projects
- Character development lessons and group reflection
Our Commitment
We know your child’s safety and happiness are your top priorities — they’re ours too. YMCA staff are background-checked, CPR-certified, and trained in child development and supervision. Our low staff-to-child ratios ensure every child receives personal attention and care.
Schedule & Locations
Students in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to join YMCA After School Child Care, a licensed child care program that takes place in 18 local schools in the Knox County Schools system, Monday-Friday from 2:30-6:00pm.

Pricing & Fees
- Tuition & Fees
- Full time (4 or 5 days) = $85 per week participants / $71 per week Y members
- Part time (3 or fewer days) = $62 per week participants / $56 per week Y members
- Rates subject to change.
- Enrollment Fee = $50 per child
- DHS certificate funding is accepted. Scholarships are available to families who qualify.
